I offer training and freelance riding.
20 years of freelance riding and 15 years of teaching.
Riders ranging from those just learning to 4* event riders.
My lessons are adaptable to your needs, whether that is just to have fun, teaching a young horse, or an out an out competitor. I especially have a good rapport with kids/teenagers and find a good balance of keeping lessons fun while horse and rider still learns.
I also have some nifty tips and tricks for those struggling with competition nerves. (I've been there and know how debilitating they can be!)
I teach a range of lessons but especially polework (I have an endless array of exercises) basic inhand schooling and dressage training.
I am a trainer that is always at the end of the phone happy to give advice or encouragement. Nothing makes me happier than receiving messages on how clients have got on out competing.
Now for a little about my riding history!
Currently I am on a bit of a competing break due to my slight pain in the backside of a youngster, who I keep hoping one day might want to step up and finally get between the white boards. I live in hope!
I've been very fortunate to have success in British Eventing and British Dressage.
In my eventing days I successfully competed up to Intermediate/2*.
Dressage however is where my true passion really lies. I've had wins and placings at Area Festivals, Regionals and Winter Dressage Championships. Competing up to Advance Medium.
In my late teens I spent some time working for Per Skjaerbaek at Priess Stutteri in Denmark.
I still have big ambitions to reach Grand Prix one day with the right horse power.
Training horses is a privilege, watching them gain confidence, develop and become stronger to perform in the sport is a joy.

'I have had lessons with Emma for nearly two years now and before my pony (Bee) refused to go in an outline, bend correctly round corners and would rush before every jump.
Bee now goes in an outline, bends softly and waits before every jump.
She makes each lesson different, fun and always focusing on the different ways we can improve.
I love every lesson as it keeps my passion for riding strong because I learn new skills whilst having fun.'

'Emma has taught me so much over the last 8 years in dressage and jumping. I have always loved our lessons and she has given me so much confidence riding, especially after a fall. She is very patient and understanding. I always feel safe with her as she knows what me and my pony are capable of.
Emma is a great rider and an amazing teacher.'

'Emma has taught me over the past 7 years, everything from pole work, dressage, show jumping and cross country. Her lessons are always fun and varied. I have progressed enormously as a result of her kind and calm teaching.'
